Biennial Update
Trucking companies and contractors are required to have a Department of Transportation (DOT) number affixed to the sides of their trucks. Trucks must have these numbers before they can begin transporting materials, and any new company or carrier has to apply for one before it can send vehicles out on the road.
Every two years, or biennially, the information associated with this number must be updated. That’s done by filing an MCS-150. This form gives the government the most current information on your fleet and your company. It ensures that the data available is current and accurate.
USDOT Cancelation
When deactivating your DOT Number there are things that must be done and changed in your MCS-150 Form.
2022 UCR (Unified Carrier Registration)
The UCR Program requires individuals and companies that operate commercial motor vehicles in interstate or international commerce to register their business with a participating state and pay an annual fee based on the size of their fleet. This includes ALL carriers – private, exempt, or for hire.
